At Baobab Dried Fruit, situated in the fertile Hoedspruit area of the Limpopo province of South Africa, we jealously guard the quality standards of our dried products. For us, this means using the best possible fruit (the right cultivars picked at the opportune times), training our staff to have pride in their work, and employing innovative and sustainable production methods. Since our establishment in 1995, Baobab Dried Fruit has built strong supply relationships with growers and clients across the world.

Baobab is part of the larger ANB Group of Companies which covers the agricultural value chain from the management and commercialisation of new cultivars to nurseries, farms and packing facilities.

Dried mango currently represents our major product range, supplied in different formats and exported to four countries. Much of our raw material are procured from the farms surrounding our facility, including Bavaria Fruit Estates and Blydevallei – growers with extensive experience and a passion for the environment. They are also at the forefront of mango cultivar development with six commercial cultivars, including Tommy Atkins, Kent, Keitt, Shelly, Brooks en Joa, planted on their farms.

Our facility houses 18 drying ovens of which each can dry an estimated 2,100 kg of wet mangoes to 400 kg dried mango in 14 to 18 hours. The product is cut by hand and preserved with sodium metabisulphite to preserve the colour, then boxed and shipped per container.
